GMOS Perfect Spiral

Planning your Dark Sky activities

We have run more than 50 events for community groups, schools, visitor attractions and others throughout Scotland. Your event could be an evening in your local hall or a whole Dark Sky weekend! Here’s what we can do.

Activities we run for families, schools or community groups are weatherproof! They include daytime and indoor activities as well as stargazing.

Projects are activities you can carry out with your family, school or community. Measure your local light pollution, find your local Dark Sky Discovery Site or create your Constellation Project.

Training workshops enable teachers, educators, community group leaders and others to learn how to lead these Dark Sky activities and projects themselves.

Our events are currently free (or at a subsidised rate), thanks to a Scottish Government grant for International Year of Astronomy 2009.
